Blessings in disguise!
I went to work the other day, and as fate would have it, something awesome happened. After my meeting, I offered to drop a stranger at the bus stop. He agreed, but then I asked, what’s your neighbourhood? Funny enough, we live in the same neighbourhood. I turned back and said; I live close by, so I can drop you home. He immediately responded, “no” it’s fine; don’t bother. You don’t have to go out of your way. I insisted, and he finally agreed. Mind you, he was elderly, so I couldn’t bear to see him walk/take the bus in the cold.
He finally agreed, and we took off. It was a fun ride. We chatted about life, career and goals. About 10 minutes away from his home, he said, you have blessed me, you saved me time, how can I bless you in return? I replied with: Don’t worry, I did my good deed of the day. I was happy to have been of service. He insisted and said, let me at least fuel your tank. I was obliged to agree. It was indeed an amazing gesture. He was happy for having returned the favour, and I was happy for having blessed him. I was also grateful. It was an unexpected blessing, so I thanked God, dropped him off and went home.
This encounter just reminded me of the importance of the little things we do. The effort we invest in others is often appreciated, so don’t stop doing good. The good deeds are not in vain. There is a greater reward awaiting you. It brings joy, peace, laughter, and grace.
I encourage you to keep going! Stay blessed!
